The Deal With The Dakotas, the Carolinas, and the Virginias

In 1889, President Benjamin Harrison split Dakota into North Dakota and South Dakota. The reason for the split is because of the corrupt republican governor tried to move the capital from Yankton to Bismark. Current day governors, Dennis Duagaard and Doug Burgum signed a boundary treaty to remove the border between the two states and combine to make Dakota. Duagaard has been a governor for seven years and he is relieving his position to Burgum. Burgum plans to make the capital of Dakota, Pierre.

The Carolinas are also combining back to its original state. Roy Cooper, North Carolina's governor, reached out to us to make this statement, "its time to let old feuds die. McMaster and I are very good friends and we both agree that the current separation is causing confusion in the markets." The problem with the market was the misplacement of South Carolina goods with North Carolina good. The border will removed as of March 25th, 2019; and the capital with be Raleigh.

The Virginias are another story. The location of where the capital should be is in heavy dispute. Virgina's governor, Terry McAuliffe says the border should be Richmond, while Jim Justice of West Virginia wants the capital to be Jefferson. Currently, the states won't be separated due to the dispute but CNN reporter, Jim Acosta claims that "if the two states were to combine, the economy would rise and end most of poverty in the two areas." For now, we hope a compromise will occur between the states. The debate will end on April 15th.
